AlmaPlay (“we”, “us”) is a preschool-management platform used by preschools, their staff, and the parents of enrolled children. This policy explains what information the AlmaPlay website and mobile app collect, how it is used, and the choices you have. For data about children, the child’s preschool is the data controller and AlmaPlay acts as its service provider (processor) on the school’s instructions.
Account information— name, email address, mobile number, role (parent, teacher, staff, admin) and a securely hashed password, used to sign you in and run your preschool’s account.
School & child records— information your preschool or you enter, such as a child’s name, grade, attendance, milestones, daily reports, photos, fees and (where the school enables it) health and emergency-contact details. This data belongs to the preschool.
Device & usage — when you use the mobile app, a push-notification token (so we can send your school alerts), basic device type, and sign-in activity (time and IP) for security.
To provide and secure the service; to show each user the information their role allows; to send notifications about your child or school (which you can turn off in your device settings); to process fee payments where the school enables it; and to comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Within your preschool, information is visible to the relevant staff and to the parents of the child it concerns. We share data with service providers that help us run AlmaPlay — hosting (Hostinger), push notifications (Google Firebase Cloud Messaging), email/SMS delivery, and payment processing (Razorpay) — only as needed to provide the service. We may disclose information if required by law.
AlmaPlay is intended for use by adults (parents, teachers, staff and administrators). Records about children are entered and controlled by the preschool. We process them solely to provide the service to that school and do not use children’s data for any other purpose.
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and passwords are stored only as salted hashes. We keep information for as long as your preschool account is active, and delete it on request (see below) or when the school’s account is closed.
You can update your profile in the app, turn notifications on or off in your device settings, and request access to or deletion of your account and data. To delete your account, see Delete your account.
